Family Dinner

Every third Sunday of the month is Toponce Family Dinner.  Sometimes we have everyone with us, sometimes not.  This Sunday everyone could come except Tiffany's husband Rob.  Nurses have difficult schedules and this one he just had to miss.  Luckily, everyone else could make it this month. We had a yummy Costa Vida style dinner, a short FHE and some of us played games and some of us watched the Allstar game.  Ya, ha ha the girls played games and the guys watched the game.

It has been a wonderful blessing for us to have all of our family still close by, for now.  Tiffany and Kristen have stayed in Kent's "20 minute limit", but Michelle and Braden are a little further away in Logan.  (It is ok to not hold to Kent's 20 minute limit if you are in school) Our family means everything to us.  As it grows our love just multiplies.  It is amazing how your love for your family can just keep growing and growing.  There really is no end.  That is exactly how our Heavenly Father planned it! It is a beautiful gift.

Tiffany and Rob are preparing for Carter's next surgery on March 3rd.  It is at these difficult times that it is a great comfort to know that our Heavenly Father is there for us.  This surgery will most likely keep Carter in the hospital for 2 to 3 days and heavily sudated.  As her parents we have watched our daughter and her husband rely on prayer, fasting and faith as they take the necessary steps for Carter's health.  Landen is growing up so fast.  He says the cutest things, enjoys reading books on moms nook and LOVES to play at papa's house.  We are looking forward to his first overnighter at our house when Carter has his surgery.

Kristen and Zach are preparing for their new addition in June.  They have the crib and the room almost competely ready.  It is so fun to see their excitement as they look forward to their little one arriving.  Kristen has a name picked out, now she just needs to get Zach on board.  At least we do know his middle name will be Guy after his grandpa Warr.

Michelle and Braden are looking forward to the warmer weather in Logan.  It has almost been one year since they got married.  I can't believe it, time has really gone by.  Braden is doing really well in school and Michelle is working.  She would like to be working more (and not retail) but she really likes her job at Love to Cook and is learning some really cool things and getting some really cool appliances!  It really has been a great opportunity for her.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Apple Walnut Sticky Buns - Yummy!

2 T butter, softened                               1 medium Granny Smith apple, cut into 1/2" squares
3/4 cup chopped walnuts                     1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 can Pillsbury refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing

Generously butter 8 regular muffin cups with softened butter.  Heat oven to 375 degrees.

In a bowl, mix apples, walnuts and brown sugar.  Divide evenly among muffin cups.  Separate cinnamon rolls and reserve icing.  Place 1 cinnamon roll in each cup.

Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until tops are golden brown.  Cool for 5 minutes and run knife around each cinnamon roll to loosen.  Place a cookie sheet upside down over the muffin pan; turn over and remove muffin pan.

Remove the lid from the icing and microwave on high for 5 to 10 second or until thin enough to drizzle.  Drizzle over warm buns and serve warm.

This is so yummy you can't eat just one!
